Kannawidan Ylocos Festival:Honor to Ilocano Culture

Festivals are an expressive way for glorious heritage, history and traditions to be  celebrated. They are supposed to share unique  occasions and feelings with our loved ones. In order to bring structure to our social livesthey play an essential part and  link us with our families and backgrounds. They give us a  day to day diversion,  for boring  life  routine,  and give us some encouragement to  remember the important things and  moments in life. Festivals have begun to  pass on stories, wisdom and practices to  the next  generation.

In a way or another, all festivals are spiritual
There are several types of festivals:
national, religious, and seasonal cultural.   Each of them help to bring  pleasure to our lives and enhance our  sense of  connection.

Ilocos Sur Province has recently celebrated its Kannawidan Ylocos Festival. Kannawidan is an Ilocano word meaning rich heritage and culture festival. Kannawidan means customs, and this province has everything to display.Kannawidan is a place showcasing abilities, brains, beauties, and creative kindness, particularly Ilocano's.

The Kannawidan Festival celebrates and maintains Ilocanos' heritage, traditions and culture. This festival has a great impact on individuals because it demonstrates how their province lives and lines. Kannawidan is also confirmation that Ilocano is wealthy in customs and cultures.

This year's annual Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is simpler to celebrate because of the pandemic.

Through its provincial tourism office, the provincial government has declared strict guidelines to be followed during the festival to prevent COVID-19 from spreading.
